Improving the quality of a voice recording

• select everything [ctrl + A]
• go to effects > plugins

• low pass filter
to get less of higher frequencies (ie backgd noise)

• high pass filter
to get less of lower freq
(home loudspeakers bottom out at ca. 80)

80 - 115

• equalisation

trough ~ 3000 KHz

• compressor

threshold -23
ration 1:3
attack time 0.1 secs

• apply gain
• normalise
once all other fx have been applied

Getting rid of pops

• heighten audio track for better legibility
• select region w/ mouse
• got to effects > amplify
• change amplification to (for instance) -14 dB
try different settings
